History

Green Power was founded by the two Norwegians, Christian Erlandsen and Hans Angel Olsen. Their passion for renewable energy, their desire to improve society, and their endless curiosity and hunger for new ideas and technology led into founding of Green Power.

Christian Erlandsen has many years of experience from capital intensive operations in various European and African countries. Hans Angel Olsen has many years of experience from the oil sector as well as from telecoms. The driver has been to support the development of countries lacking proper infrastructure which is the most important element in growth and welfare. This passion got a step forward when we were introduced the improved technology to produce clean electricity with Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) in 2017 and decided to form a company and introduce the technology to the African market. The management has developed a network of people and organizations and controls today expertise within the needed areas for a successful launch of power plants, first in Africa, and then also in Asia and Australia. Areas with competitive sun conditions for CSP. The network of people covers the technology, operations, political contacts, business development and finance.

Our first license was given in Ghana in November 2017 (100MW CSP), followed by contract negotiations for a private operation in Angola in 2018.
